Tim Haddon is a long time Truckee resident and fly fishing enthusiast. Tim often admits that when he started fishing the Truckee River he was often skunked and disappointed. Over the years he befriended some of the very best local anglers including Andy Burk, Dave Stanly, and Ralph Cutter. Soon his Truckee skills began to improve dramatically.
Dave offered Tim a job at the Truckee Branch, and Andy soon became his boss and fishing friend. In the past few years, Tim has become a quite good angler, fly tier, and guide. Tim really puts his heart in every trip he does. When his clients have a bad day he is bummed for days after, so he trys his hardest on each and every outing. Tim is a great guy and willing to share his vast knowledge about angling on the mighty Truckee, and angling in general. Tim has revolutionized some fishing methods for the area, including his method of dead drifting his hand tied crayfish patters. Tim has also recently become a contracted tier for Umpqua feather merchants. His latest crayfish pattern is being sold nation wide. Check out Tim's article "Truckee Days and Fishing Creys; A True Story" in the August 05 issue of California Fly Fisher.
